Going to charter in the BVIs with a rookie crew this May. Any idea of what the winds (how strong and where from)? What about historical trends for rainfall? Like...should we pack the foul weather gear?Thank you...
...it's warm rain great for naked bodies. We're planning our 4th return for late May early June. Maybe we'll run into you. We left Western Canada 20 years ago for career reasons. Sunsail.com has the monthy weather conditions and traveltalkonline.com is the best site for BVI information. You're going to have a great time. The sailing is easy and the painkillers will eliminate all stress.
and it will also rain. I always sail in a swim suit and a tee shirt, so I don't care about the rain showers. They are small and you just sail through them and enjoy cooling off. Nights can sometimes be a little warm in late May. Have fun.
Even when it does rain, the rain is soft and warm enough to withstand it without the use of foulies at that time of year. The wind is beginning to diminish in mid-april, so that shouldn't be a priblem. I'll be there at the end of April. I've usually been there in mid-April, so expect it to be a bit lighter when I'm there.
