paid, $2.50/gal diesel, $3.50/bag ice, beer is
about $15.00/case, Coca Cola/$6.00 per 6 pack, store food prices about 20% higher than home. Highly reccomend you pack your frozen meats, etc is a wheeled cooler and duct tape it shut. Saves $$$, better quality. we aslo took frozen drink mixes and finished filling the cooler with frozen bottles of water. Water last June was $1.50 gallon in the stores and $.15/gal at the marinas. Don't drink the water from the boat's water tanks. No sense in risking getting sick. You probably won't need to to worry about diesel refills until the end of your trip. We used less than 25 gallons for 10 das and due to referigeration and batery problems, had to run/motor for about 5 hours a day. Take a WINDSCOOP!!! No mosquitos, humidity is low, temps will be low 80's, winds 12-15knots, not very crowded. Our favorite places were Cane Garden Bay, go see Quito perform, and Foxy's at Jost Van Dyke. Moorings are $20.00, but you can easily anchor near the moorings, except Soper's Hole, where there is no real room to anchor. We had no troubel provisioning at the grocery stores, though we did take a lot of prepackaged foods with us. To clear customs, it must be in the original Mfg packing and the meats must be in the store wrapping with the store pricing and labels, so they can identify what is comming into their country. You will have a blast and a 40 footer will be no problem for your small crew. It was the trip iof a lifetime for us...already planning another one.
