Quissett et al
Scott,I have only sailed in Buzzzard's Bay a few times on my way around from Dennis on the South Side of the Cape to Dennis on the North side of the Cape (and points beyond in Cape Cod Bay. Yes it can be bumpy, but the winds are also dependable which is nice for us sailor types. My wife and I love spending the night in Quissett harbor, just north of Wood's Hole nin Falnouth. You just go in and pick up a mooring ball and they come around later and pick up the ten bucks or whatever. Just arrive while it is still light, and you will have no trouble. Always lots of sailboats, and it is quiet and idyllic. No restaurants or services, just a snug harbor full of sailboats bigger and more expensive than yours or mine.We have also gone into Red Brook Harbor and you can dock and dine at Kingmans which is fun, and there are two good boatyards there for repairs. Kingmans is on the Cape side too, in Pocasset I think. We have not ventured into the South Shore MA harbors like new Bedford/ Dartmouth etc., but I would like to. Nor to Cuttyhunk, but that is on my list. I would even like to make it to Dutch Harbor and on to Warwick! It is also fun to time the trip thru the canal on slack or fair tide and go over to Wellfleet.Or time the trip the same way and come thru Wood's Hole to visit on Martha's Vineyard or Cape Harbors. There are a few, and the water is thin, but it is fun. I particularly like visiting Cotuit.Happy sails,RogerC27 #5012 &MabelBass River, West DennisCape Cod MA
