Buying new sails: What do the abbreviations mean?

I have a 1972 O'day 22 that I am considering replacing the mainsail on, but when looking for sails I noticed that its not as simple as just identifying the boat's make and model. Sail shops are offering different sizes for the following configurations:

O'day 22-2 / O'day 22 TM MH / O'day 22 MH / O'day 22 FR / O'day 22 CB

I'm assuming that MH=Masthead, FR=Fractional Rigged, CB=Centerboard, and I don't know what TM stands for.

My boat has a fixed shoal keel and masthead rigging. Can someone help me verify which one of these sail configurations I need?

TM probably means "tall mast." You probably don't have a tall rig if you have a shoal keel. So, if your headsail rises to your masthead you have an MH. If it stops a few feet short you've got an FR.

But don't fret too much, any legit sail loft is going to ask for a few measurements before they actually make a sail for the boat.

That makes sense. I would have just given the shop my current sail dimensions, but I am having some issues and working on the rigging, I just wanted to verify that its currently rigged to the manufacturer's specifications.

The 22 had a Masthead Rig from 1972 to 79, a Fractional Rig from 1980-83. The 1972-78 models had a fixed (shoal) keel 1'11" draft. the 1979-83 models had a Keel/Centerboard 1'3" / 4'3" draft.
Mast length was 22'9" for the 1972-79 models, 27'3" for the 1980-83 models.
Mast height (above Designed Waterline) was 27'0" for the 1972-79 models and 31'0" for the 1980-83 models.

There were only 2 different masts for the 22, the original 22'9" masthead rig (1972-79) and the later 27'3" Fractional rig (1980-83) There was no "Tall-Rig" option, so I can't figure out the "TM" code. Also, the "O'Day 22 CB" ........ the 1979 model had the masthead rig, the 1980-83 had the Fractional rig...... So, which sailplan do they refer to?

I'm guessing that the O'Day 22-2 is really the newer (1984-89) O'DAY 222 a totally different boat than the O'DAY 22.

It looks like the O'day 22 MH is probably my best bet. Bacon Sails has its measurements listed as follows: I=24.00 ; J=9.00 ; P=20.50 ; E=8.00.
If this looks right, then I'll use it to verify my current setup.

Does anyone have any sail recommendations to improve performance?
