New here! Hello! (I've been active on the Hunter site with my Hunter 23) Well, Looks like I'm going to get a Oday 30! 1982. bimmini, dodger, Universal diesel, Hood roller furling. Even has the old style auto pilot! (belt and drive external to the wheel) I had to keep telling myself it's only 30 ft but it looks and feels like a 35fter! I will have it pulled so we can inspect the bottom but I expect blisters, which will be a winter/spring project anyway. Owner is living aboard currently. Things i like: the large saloon, galley layout, smaller cockpit, the "Big boat" feeling, Please by all means. let me know the good and bad!

Happy O'Day 30 Owner

I bought a '79 O'Day 30 over several early 80s Hunters, Pearsons, Irwin, and C&C. Much more spacious and comfy and way more stable. Not a racer, but does OK in light air and upwind. Great in heavy air. Roller furling is awesome and w/ all lines to cockpit easy to single hand. Alcohol stove is a bummer. Very sturdy and repowered w/ 27hp yanmar. My wife and kids love it - happy crew is half the battle.

Survey says: good solid hull! couple of dozen small things to fix. but the boat is ok in general.

I have owned a 1979 O'day 30cb since 1987. have loved every minute of it. she has been sailed from st. mary's city,md to Nantucket via both ways IE jersey coast vs outside montauk long island to cape may. very sea worthy even offshore in 8' seas. welcome aboard; s/v Que Pasa?

Mine is an 85 Thirtyone(one key is broke). Bought in late 2000. Liveaboard ever since. Never had a problem w/blisters. Great boat w/a LOT of room. My first liveaboard was an O'day 25. Gotta love the Brand Cheers, James

You tell 'em, Bill

Bill, Same goes for DarknStormy up in Old Greenwich. Not sure exactly where in CT that is, but it couldn't be any further than New London, could it? So, are you listening, D&S? Wherever the 2007 rOnDAYvous is, we'd love to see you there. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ Head rOnDAYvous cheerleader and self-appointed go-to guy
