I am about to buy a used sailing boat 35-40f and around 100000 euro. I am going to be sailing with my familly around the Greek islands . At the moment at that price i am concetering of buying either a hanse 400e 2006 or a sun odyssey 39 i 2007 or a dufour 40 performance 2007 or oceanis 40 2011. I will like the opinion of some more experience sailors on these yachts. thanks a lot

A few things. First there is a huge difference in boat between 35 and 40 feet, in capability, price, and upkeep. But all the boats you mention are 40, so let's start there.

The Oceanus is clearly the cruiser of the group, and would be the most comfortable, and being a DS probably offers the best living on-board. The Dufour is the race/performance hull, clearly less room downstairs. Also has a sailplan and SA/D that must be watched in the summer. I doubt you could find for for 100k euro however. The Hanse is in between.

I'd make sure all boats have triple reefed mains and jibs as headsails to deal with the Meltemi .

fwiw, I crew on a 2005 Dufor 35, and the wires were NOT tinned.

-I personally replaced some of the wiring for the nav lights when they just fell apart.

I would not buy Dufor for this reason alone.

never been on a hanse, but they sure look nice.

Of the boats you mentioned, my pick would be the Hanse. Look at Bavaria's too.
I have seen a Bavaria vision 2007 with lots of extras (bow thruster , air con, radar, 54 hp engine ,good sails e.t.c ) and I liked it but they told me that Bavarias are not so good ( cheap material ) . I don't know if these is true.

From my experience bare boating in theGreek islands, I'd go with the Oceanis first, then the Sunsea.
