Like that boat

I don't know about good vs. bad, but I saw one at the Boston Boat Show and really liked it. The interior dimensions are similar to the 36 (which I own), but has a very nice aft cabin and head layout. I don't like the nav station as much as the 36 mkI and the galley is also not quite as nice due to the walk-through entrance to the aft cabin. It is also about $35K more than a 36. However, that center line queen with the innerspring matress is hard to beat. Les Murray s/v Ceilidh 86 C-36 #560

38 or 380; HUGE Difference

38 or 380 ??? The 'original' Catalina 38 was derived from a Sparkman Stephens IOR design. The 'newer' Catalina 380 models in No Way resemble the 38. Which are You considering???

Catalina 38

I have a 1982, Catalina 38. I purchased my 38 late last season. My hours on her were limited. I did a lot of research prior to the purchase. She is a great boat. Handles well, and built with quality. Design and layout are above average. Engine may be underpowered in heavy seas. I have yet to uncover any major problems in my experience or research.
