I am a seasoned Real Estate buyer, does sailboat offers work the same. Roughly, % percent difference off asking price. I understand equipment variables, but is there a starting point before getting insulting. Appreciate the help.

I think there's a big difference between the two. Can't speak to the first, but for the latter (used) prices/offers vary wildly, as with RE. Can't imagine anyone would be insulted, if they are there are lots and lots of boats for sale out there. Unlike the house, location of a boat really doesn't matter as you can move it farily easily.
