Since I need a battery just to power my running lights, and maybe occassionally the mast and cabin lights, someone suggested I go to Wal Mart and buy an inexpensive 12 volt battery. If I do this, do I need to buy one with a certain amperage output or something, or do I just buy an ordinary 12 volt battery?

Try the link. Also consider how you are going to recharge the battery after you use it. We had one 95 ah gel cell on our old C25 for much the same uses, and it worked fine for years. Used a solar panel to keep it topped off, with some shorepower charging with a small charger. Good luck.

Where can I buy the solar charger?
Stan If you got to the link from the last post, just go to the homepage for West Marine (or any other vendor, i.e., BoatUS, Defender, this website's very good store, etc.), and look up solar panels. Do I guess that you're in NJ? Should be plenty of places there. Stu
