Buying a 1980 Jensen Cal 25-2 today, and am going to have it moored, and I have two dogs. My problem, I have a 65 lb Weimaraner and a chug, where do they go to the bathroom? I know there must be some sea-going dogs out there and I need my best options.

Thanks

Hope you have a dinghy and an appropriate area for 'shore duty'.....

Some people have trained their dogs to 'go' on a piece of grass carpet, or simply on the deck for a washoff...
.. wonder how the 'no discharge area' rules apply then??:p

The rules say you can't discharge from a boat but they don't prohibit direct discharge.

A responsible owner of a large dog in a crowded mooring would find other more appropriate ways of dealing with observable pet waste, just as they would do on land.

They go wherever they want to go, when they have to go ... our dog made a crap in our son's sandal one time ... he still loved her despite the indignity. I'm afraid you will just have to figure this one out on your own ... and it's never going to be convenient for you.

Good morning, Your question brings back many memories of sailing with our Rottweiler and yellow lab .
We also have always been on a mooring . We plannned shore visits at least three times a day . Getting larger dogs down onto and up from a dinghy is pretty much a pain in the butt . We always tried to find a dock or a temporary slip we could use for at least 15 minutes . Our Rottweiler also had a hard time drinking water from a bowl while the boat was in motion .
We made sure that lot's a water was available once we were back on dry land .
I give you much credit for thinking ahead about what's best for your pups ..
