The KISS Butane Stove in our 1999 H-260 looks like new - BUT - when we put a new can of butane in - the flame will not stay lit ... we have to hold down the control knob to maintain the flame. Again - this is with a NEW can of fuel.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is is a clogged vent somewhere?

Appreciate your help.

My butane stove H260 Yr. 2002

Yea, my stove struggles to stay lite. I am using Coleman butane purchased at Dicks Sporting Goods. We just began using it for coffee making and frequently it just goes out. It fires back up but needs constant watching. This is a factory installatioin stove, Krylon I beleive is the manufacture.

My KISS worked well for three seasons, and then it developed a leak at the bottle seal. It caused a fire every time I used it even after I replaced the o ring seal.

The manufacture stopped making that model. I contacted them and was going to return it for repairs (for a fee), instead I replaced it with a stove that was still being manufactured and did not use that kind of fuel bottle.

Source for stove

If you will visit your local jockey lot or flea market on a Saturday morning, you will find maybe an off the wall restuarant supply. The restuarant industry uses a similar stove for hot tables. I got the replacement butane bottles through this source, 3 or 4 for $10.
You can also buy the stoves.

KISS - Update

I called the manufacturer (Krylon International) - they are still in business; still manufacture the stove in the USA - and for $60 (includes return shipping) will replace the regulator (the most probable cause of my problem) and any gaskets that are dried out. The technician says the new regulators should allow this stove to burn 3 to 4 HOURS on a single can of butane.

Will let everyone know the results.

Go to a restaurant supply store and look for the Iwatani Butane stoves. I am a chef, and they are reliable and durable.

Had one blow up in the cabin. throw it away and get a coleman stove. fuel at any Walmart and a more positive seal than a Butane push on can. If thats what you have... They are dangerous on boats and confined spaces.
