Butane Stove Fuel

Where do you buy this stuff? What is the right size and fitting?
The instructions that came with my stove didn't cover this, just something like "insert canister and close door".

I think you also need to push the lever down to lock the can into place, but you have got the idea.

I get mine off the internet. Usually from Amazon. I order a 12 pack of cans at a time. About $20 for the 12 pack.

Thanks guys, I searched the archieves and found a post about Oriental stores carrying butane and stoves.
Just got back- 4 cans for 5 bucks.

I remeber reading some spy novel discussing that butane was heavier that air, and leaky valves would build explosive gasses in the bilge. Don't know if there is any truth to that, but make sure the canister doesn't leak.

Funny, I had looked up the specific gravity of gasses just the other night, not for this but another interest and butane is 2.0061. 25% heavier than propane at 1.5219.
You're right, a little bottle of soapy water will be stashed in the galley cabinet. Thanks.
