I am having a hard time getting my heating/airconditioning system to pump raw water through the system. In the past, it just starts without doing anything. Some years I just loosened the clamps on one of the hoses and let the air out and it starts pumping. Since I seldom do this, does anybody have specific instructions on how to get the pump going again?

Every time I go for a sail, I close the ac thruhull. Sometimes, when water is choppy. Some air gets into the system. You just need to take the air fromthe thruhull to the pump. In my case, I have a strainer , so I just used to loosen the cap a little bit until water starts coming out of it and then tighten it. Now I found out that if I take the strainer and turn it upwards a few times, it burps itself. Hope this helps

my hose coming off the ac unit to the exit thru-hull has an in-line coupling. I separate this and stick a hose with a nipple type nozzle in it and this forces out the air ....
