Burning insense on a boat

Never done it but if I were thinking to do so, I think I'd look for a completely sealed, with vent holes, container I could secure in place. No tops to fall off, no way for the burning incense to come out of it at any angle. I think I'd have to fabricate what I'd need...

Maybe wait until you are not actively sailing… :facepalm:

I put stuff in the sink that I don’t want spill banged around when sailing.

If you have a metal galley sink, that might be an option.

But option 1 is probably the best. I burn candles for the aroma, but not while actively sailing for fear of burning the boat down to the waterline.

me, i have a fire place on board aeolus. installed by the builder. i can us it while sailing. same as tom young's. tom burns wood, i burn charcoal. usable under way.

so i would burn it in the harth area. no problem

sink would be my second choice. sorta.

I burn citronella candles on my boat… but only at anchor and only in a metal pot placed in my sink

I‘ve come to find sailing hard on the wind with the rail near the waters edge provides all the feeling I need. A smokable substance is not needed to enhance the experience.

I have not inhaled… nor eaten gummies. I may of had a chocolate chip cookie or brownie once. Not sure.

I did drive through smoke from a sheriff’s field burn back in the 70’s outside of Virginia Beach. It had an odd sweet pungent odor. There were folks stopping cars on the roadside. News said not to do that. Would have no affect. Even back then there was fake news.
