Bumper Boats in the Bay

The the Fall WYC evening racing moves from the main body of Lake Minnetonka to much smaller Wayzata Bay. 100 boats, 6 fleets in 3 minute increment starts, two parallel courses with boats doing 3-lap half mile windward and leeward legs.

You can barely think over the constant calls of 'STARBOARD'!

Anyone else have 'crazy' races???

Joker, I totally agree. The RtI race is on the bucket list. I've got friends that do it but I've never been able to time it to make the race. Lot of boats but at least they are all going in the same direction!

Amazingly, I've not done it, but my BOAT has. BlueJ was shipped over from the UK after sailing in the Solent for 5 years. She did the race 4 times, once placing 24th corrected. We still have the old sails with the RYA GBR sail numbers. They mostly live in our sail loft; too heavy for our typically light conditions.
