I have a Catalina 30 and want to replace the unattractive salon table currently in use. I have seen bulkhead mounted tables on a hinge that clip to the bulkhead when not in use, and fall in place when needed. When they are lowered, they expose a shelving unit that was not visible when the table leaf was us. Do you know where these can be obtained? Jody

Great Table setup
Yes it is a great table setup for sure. I think I saw it on a Catalina or some other boat I also did like the way you can fold it up out of the way and than have all that open space for sitting and moving around. But I think you will need to custom fit it to you boat which should not be too hard if handy. If you don't have a mast post in the way it can be done. Nick

Have you considered
a pedestal mounted table that drops down to make a bed? I did that with my Catalina 30. I also took the area along the bulkhead that the table was swinging from and made a bench seat. Under this seat, I added 3 house Bateries. I effect, I made a 'U' shaped setee with a pedestal mounted table that dropped down into the sole to make the bed. The Bulkhead was varnished beautifully and the table was white formica with oak fiddle rails. The white table brightened up the whole salon. We then put a LCD TV on that Bulkhead. When we went cruising or just overnighters, the wall mounted table was just too much to handle and drop into a bed when there was any wave action at all. Just a thought. I'm offshore now and not sure when I get home if I still have any pics of it. If interested, e-mail me. Tony B

not available on C30s, they did, however, make them for Sabre Yachts, which are a whole different class of boat than a C30. Or have someone make it custom, very expensive. Some C30s did have fold up tables, see the C30 Association website for details, www.catalina30.com
