Bubbly under top-coat

Hi all! Ever seen paint do this? I'm sanding down what I thought was just a sad paint-job, and it looks like there's little corrosion pockets under the top-coat. Anybody know what's going on here?

I assume it's something caused by poor surface prep, and sanding it anyway... but maybe its a good learning opportunity

Fiberglass doesn't corrode, so it can't be corrosion. ;)

It could be a poor paint job or it could be the result of shrink wrapping or other tight plastic winter cover. Covering some polyurethane paints like Awlgrip with a tight plastic will cause the paint to blister.

Thanks! That does make sense, I think the last guy kept it wrapped up in a tarp for many moons before I picked it up.
But i was a lil bit concerned, since it looked ok before i started sanding. A good bit of orange peel, but nothing like the moonscape I uncovered, lol.
It'll all be gone soon, and with luck, she'll be blue by spring

That looks a little bit like something called orange peeling. It can happen when the paint is put on something that is too cold
