There are rumors of a few engine blocks on the bottom around here. No one's fessin' up given the potential environmental liability.

Yeah.... I think (?) Buehler's Backyard Boat Building book mentions that option... for a mooring maybe but I'm trying to see someone stowing and deploying this hunk of concrete as an anchor. Wait... imagine it dangling from the anchor roller as it pendulums into your boat....:p

Think it was missssspelled, should have advertised a "Concrete Anker". Please send phone number, if he is willing to pay shipping I have a buddy near Mt Everest who can use it to anker his tent.

OBO makes me think "low ball offer". Perhaps that beauty could be had for $6.95! Then I would just need to find some used chain and anchor "rope" to finish off my cruising gear.

You all have spent too much time at sea. That is NOT a boat anchor. That is a Bad Husband anchor.
It is obvious that it not made from salt water concrete!

Well I guess the one my wife drug home from a beach walk at the lake, and is now used for garden art, should be worth at least $20.00 then. At least the guy who built this one used some imagination by using both a coffee can (or stove pipe) and a ham can for his mold. ;)

He said, in a thick Italian accent, "Yeah, av used it several thimes. No problems. It's a little banged up ya know, from a few struggles with deployin' it.
Listen uh, you can have it for free. Yeah. If uh, you know, if ya wants me ta do some kinda ting fer ya. If ya know what I mean."

that thing reminds me of duct taping a leaking pipe or bailing wiring a gate shut

.... or bailing wiring a gate shut
WHAT! Everyone does that.... heck... I use bailing wire for the gate hinges too.... no problems. Makes a good replacement for weed wacker line too.... I always keep a spool in my shed. You never know when you need to fix something. I got some holding my tail gate shut as well.

All you "rich" folks here makin fun of a poor mans anchor:)..... my dad used to make his own anchors all the time like this. He fished for blueback in a rocky river where losing anchors was more common than not...
The $10 price tag for a gallon of concrete is not a poor mans price though....

Runs down to the boat and grabs the emergency repair kit and puts it in trash, but left the wire ties and Elmers glue.

Most of the boat rentals on local lakes around here utilize the "sleep wid da fishes" anchor pictured
