I recently had to replace the washer in a leaking 1979 Brydon Marine pump assembly. I also serviced it.
I had never done this job before, and had been told since no Brydon parts are available today I would have to buy a new Jabsco toilet system. However I thought I would try finding and replacing the worn washer first. I found the job easy and within the skills of anyone who can handle
a screwdriver! I documented the procedure which is available as a series of texted photos at the
following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAew5jRPqTE. The pump now works perfectly and will probably last longer than I will ! Cost = 50c (washer) + 2 hrs free labour!
Don't buy a Jabsco replacement kit because the washer is smaller than the Brydon washer. Read the text on the photo for detailed info. :) Good luck!
