Help... Having problems with the Brydon Boy Toilet on my boat. When you pump the handle it does not draw in any salt water. I have tried many things to get it to work correctly...including replacing the piston and seals. The toilet pushes waste fine but in order to get a good flush you must add water to the bowl... Is their a check valve in the line for the seawater input? What draws the water into the bowl?

It's worn out

The Brydon Boy (Canadian version of the Jabsco manual toilet) hasn't been made in 20 years, so yours has to be at least that old.Jabsco doesn't even offer a rebuild kit for it any more--at least they no longer show it on the exploded drawing for Jabsco manual toilets. Everything has a lifespan...and 20-25 years is all any toilet except the $1000 bronze "thrones" can be expected to last...most don't last half that long. 'Cuz eventually and just using it wears down the walls of the inside of the pump cylinder, scratches and scores 'em, to the point where new seals no long can seal. So I hate to break it to you, but it's time for a new toilet.
