Not the best photo of the Grand River ice jam, but much of what you see in the distance under the railroad bridge is where the River Bend marina should be. It's grass and gravel in kinder weather. The ice comes right up to the bottom of the bridge I'm standing on. The water is usually 10-15 lower.

I worked at the LTV lime plant on the Grand River for 4 years and saw the river almost daily, through every season. And I lived in either Lakewood or Cleveland my whole 55 years on this planet, so I know about the rivers and winters up here. I was just kidding about the 70 degrees.

Actually There Is Another Grand River
The lake that we sail on Grand Lake, OK. Is fed by the Grand River. I did a double take at first, then realized it must be a different river. All I am waiting for is a nice warm day (weekend) and the right type of wind...and we are outta the house and on the lake. Last time out was the Friday after Thanksgiving.
