Bronze or stainless

Replaceing some underwater thruhull fittings. Both about the same price so which is a better choice.

Stainless steel comes in widely various forms and that is a significant factor in its galvanic index. For the most part, bronze is a far better choice.

I don't believe stainless steel

is a good choice for underwater applications, particularly when bronze is available.
