What have been people's experiences with responses to internet inquiries about a boat for sale. I have sent E-mails to no fewer than 9 brokers over 10 days ago through the various internet listing services and have yet to receive a response. I feel sorry for the poor captain who has listed his boat with these brokers. Not getting their monies worth.

I always call them..

and ask them to FAX me an equipment list for the boat. After reading over each listing (if more than one boat)I can compare the boats, and call back with addtional questions.

Internet boat brokers

I dealt with a broker who was quite email/internet savy, sent me digital pics of the boat, scans of specs, etc. But I'd have to say that is very much an exception. Lots of businesses these days have email addresses and/or websites but many of them don't really do business that way or even bother to check their email. It's always frustrating to send an email off and never hear back but I think you're probably better off calling them on the phone, most of them can handle THAT level of technology ;.)

Which Brokers???

Please email me at skipper380@juno.com and tell me which brokers you have contacted. My 380 is presently listed and if my broker is on your list, he had better have a good explanation for not responding to your enquiry.

Not just Broker's

It is not just Broker's who don't read their e-mail. The Hunter dealer I am working with is the same way. If I need to contact them, I have to pick up the phone and give them a call. If I e-mail them it goes into this BIG Black Hole.

Signature Yachts in Seattle is OK

I happen to know that Signature Yachts in Seattle has one person on their staff that checks the e-mail daily and also up grades their web site. If they don't respond it is because they are at a boat show.
