Even I, over here in England, am looking at an atlas trying to decide whether to borrow my brother in law's pick-up in N Carolina, buy Owyhee and tow her to my sister-in-law's in NH and share her with the family there. At this price she is below the going rate in Europe. I am chicken about the Atlantic (and it's so boring), so here is an opportunity to have my own Vega on both sides of the pond. Surely this is a bargain, guys, especially if the Yanmar 2 cylinder is in working order.
Increasing age, three operations in the last six years, a
stroke, and other medical issues have sent my sailing dreams "south"
rather than to the NW as originally intended. My 1974, Albin Vega,
OWYHEE, Vega number 1424 is for sale.
I purchased the boat in Oak Harbor, WA in 2006 and trailered her south
to Las Cruces, NM, the following year. I purchased the boat and EZ-
loader trailer for $10,000 and over the past several years have spent
between $1,000 and $1,500 since then on the boat, plus many, many hours
of time spent mainly to refurbish/refresh the inside of the cabin.
Engine is a Yanmar 2GM20F diesel auxiliary. which was represented to be
in good working order when purchased but has not been started since. I
do have a copy of the survey that I had completed prior to purchase and
also copies of the seller's original detailed description of the vessel.
