Are there really no archives on repairing/replacing the plunger stops on the traveler on a 1978 Hunter 25? I can't believe I'm the first guy to reach down to pull up on the plastic (Bakelite?) plunger knob to adjust the traveler only to have the knob brake off in his hand. The plastic knob seems to be the weak link in the mechanism. Although, considering its thirty-two years old, I guess I can't complain.
The parts seem to be machine pressed together. Otherwise, I might have tried to fabricate a new knob. Does anyone know what company produced them (Schaefer, Lewmar)??? And can they be repaired or must they be replaced?
This is the first time I've posted anything. So I hope I've done it right. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
