Broken Tiller Handle

Withink 5 minutes today my outboard motor died and then my tiller handle snapped clean off the rudder. Where can I get a replacement? and what information /dimensions do I need to know? ThanksIt's for an Oday 23

My old Mirage had a tiller. My "spare" was an axe-handle shaped to fit in the gudgeon fitting.Gord

not your lucky day

Today while sailing in about 15-20 knot winds on the Great south Bay my tiller broke...YIKES. I quickly reinserted the useable part and kept it in place with a hose clamp, one stainless steel screw and some self sealing mast boot tape...done deal...got right back to sailing. My wife worried the entire time we were out! We had a good laugh when we got home. We both know it could have been a disaster! Hope your day ended as calmly as mine.

It's pretty easy to get a new tiller. You might try West Marine ( if you get online you can order it by mail.Good luck
