HELP! We recently got a 1970 N27 and as I'm going over it before our first trip to the lake I found the bracket that holds the spreader to the mast is broken. It's about 6 x 3.5" with a 1-3/4' flange where the spreader attaches. The side shrouds (2) attach at the bottom of the bracket as well.

I have NO idea where to find the part-new or used. I've checked Defender, West Marine, etc and they show no listing of that part.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so our sailing season won't be delayed!

Thanks,

Ted

We need more information and some photos. It may only require a repair but we need to know the type of material it is made of in order to assist you. More than likely you will have to have a new one fabricated. I doubt that it's a stock item that a marine chandlery would carry. If you know the manufacturer of the mast, they may be able to help.

Thanks for the info!

Actually, I forgot I had a good friend in the machine fabrication trade. I was able to take it to him and he re-welded it. Did a very nice job. It's already bolted back to the mast and ready for the season.

Thanks again for the advice.
