This past week I drained the fresh water from my H260 and a found out why I had very little fresh water in the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Both check valves were broken in the same place. I was hoping some in the forum might know where I can pick these up and approximately how much they cost. Unfortunately, there is no manufacture's name to be found anywhere on the unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ask Hunter or Buy New Pump

These pumps have been a quality issue since they first put them on the H26 years ago. Lots of complaints from owners over the years. Can't believe Hunter didn't source a better pump for the 260. Ask Hunter for replacement parts or just buy a better pump as many owners have done.

Galley pumps

Bob: Just took mine apart as they were leaking and found the housing which is a pot metal deterioating. Would also like to find the mfg name. Can't find pumps that look like these in WM or BoatUS. Will be watching the forum for answers. Maybe Crazy Dave could help! Thanks

Try your local RV dealer

I had a similar problem on my 95 H26 and found it better to replace the hand pump assy and the check valve was in the pump. Hope this helps. Ray

H260 Water Pump

Try Fynspray. I replaced both of the stock pumps that came with the boat and they work great. Search the net or find at West Marine or Boaters World.

Less than $2 each through Hunter plus...

...reasonable shipping. Plan on breaking one a season when ordering as they are the weak link. Is the Winabego on the hard yet? I'm still in for now. alan

Pressure system

Bob, I went through the same thing, broke them twice, and even when the check valves worked the hand pumps did not half of the time. Bought a $40 electric pump with pressure switch, two $20 faucets, one $8 whole house filter with carbon cartridge and voila! Best money spent on that boat! You can actually fill both sinks to do dishes in a matter of minutes, never could before. It only requires running two wires to the front of the boat and a few pieces of hose to insert pump and filter in existing plumbing.

We replaced the pump/faucets

After 1 year of leaks, lost pressure and 2 replacement check valves, we decided to start over. Whale Flippers fit perfectly on the counter top and work 10X better. Don't waste time and money on replacement parts every year. We decided that elect/pressure pumps would make it more likely to use up the water faster.

don't fix the stock ones

Not worth it. I replaced the galley faucet with a whale flipper pump, defender has the best prices on them. Works great, better than the stock one ever did, to be fair it was a year old when we got it. We are going to replace both with pressure pump and faucets though.

Interesting Faucet Repair Alternative.

A friend of mine suggested an interesting alternative for repairing the stock H260 fresh water faucet. Rather then replace the faucet or purchase the same poor quality check valve, he suggested attaching a small 5/8" hose on the threaded end of the standard faucet. Then connect a standard "West Marine" 5/8" check valve (about $6.00 per unit), then more 5/8" hose into a 5/8" to 1/2" reduction fitting and then the 1/2" end should fit into the water lines on the H260. I like this idea a lot because first, its pretty inexpensive, second, the standard faucets are really not too bad, its just the plastic check valve, thats a part of the faucet, that is subject to freezing and cracking. Thirdly, when winterizing the boat, rather than disconnecting the water line up by the faucet (which is a difficult location), I will leave about 12 to 14 inches between the faucet and the check valve. The new check valve will be in a better and easier location to be removed and to blow out the water line.
