I broke one of the three dogs (leftmost) on my ellipticle hull porthole. Needless to say, water can come in without it. I had to lay a face cloth in there this week to keep splashing out. The dog is hinged to the ring around the port and the hinge gave way. The oval ring is 16.5" long and 6.5" wide. Does anyone know the brand name and where I can order another one?

Bomar

I just received two dogs for the opening ports in my '91 H33 from Bomar. Don't know the year of your boat or brand - mine are rectangular made by Gray, now out of business. Bomar makes the replacement parts. White thumb screws on ss threaded shaft, held in place with a ss pin. You can find the web adress for Bomar in the HOW archives, something like pompenet.com, but that's not it exactly. $10.50 each.

Give this a try

If you ports were made by Gray, they are now made by Bomar and can be reached at http://www.pompanette.com/ or 603-826-5791.

Got a Solution

Pompanette's web site is being remodeled, but I called them and found out that the 1988 model had changed design. I had to order a full unit to replace the old one. Fortunately the cut out is the same size. Inside trim, screen and outside trim - $106.75
