Anyone out there have latest shoaling info? I usually have inches below the keel transiting the channel, I think 6A is usually my biggest headache. Should I hug her or stay away?

Also planning on spending a night in Corrotoman River at anchor with 15-20 KTs from the north. Any suggestions on a great place to anchor?

Jorge,
a bit over 5 feet at low tide. Stay dead in the middle of the channel. Hug nothing....
As to the Corrotoman..run up just opposite Yankee Point Marina. There is somewhat of a hook there, and it's pretty well protected.

This is my home port. You must give the first red [4] LOTS of room. Two weeks ago the water was so clear you could see everything. I don't know about now though.
But you need about 90 feet between you and the red 4. If a power boat is coming toward you, it will go right down the middle of the channel forcing you aground. Just stop and wait for traffic to clear and then get over to what should be the outgoing side of the channel.

I draw 5 feet and have never run aground in the channel in 30 years of trying.

6A is not a problem, you just have to turn well. And when you leave Broad Creek don't stray too close to the eastern side. There is a lump between 6 and 6A on the east side.
