We've just completed two summers of ownership. Here's what we've done.
-paint mast and boom, use tef gel on all aluminum and stainless connections.
-rebed about 60% of deck penetrations. I need to do lifeline stantions, dorad vents, deck fills, primary winches. All rebedding was done by overdrilling and epoxy to seal core, then 5200.
-Port bulkhead I could push a screwdriver through. First year I soaked it with git rot. Last winter I rebuilt it and replace some wet core around it. I have this posted elsewhere.
-turning blocks had some missing core and water. I removed core in a six inch circle and filled with epoxy. Made new mahogany for under the blocks. Teak railings are just below these and they were dry. Mast step is dry. So I left it at that.
-finally figured out how to mount the Frotress anchor with out interfering with the anchor locker. I put it on a block of mahogany and moved the whole thing forward about two inches.
-replaced starboard main shroud- old one looked like it had a lightening strike above the spreaders!
-12,000 btu Webasto heat and air. It's on a small shelf above the water heater and return air comes through grill on closet door. One duct goes to rear cabin, 4" pvc runs through top of head ceiling and comes out very top of head bulkhead above television. Pvc is covered in cabin headliner material to blend in and has a few holes drilled to send air into the head area.
-installed 19" flatscreen on bulkhead for the head
-teak doors with removable bronze tint acrylic inserts
-remodeled galley. New white laminate with granite look laminate for countertop. Installed Origo 6000 alcohol stove and oven. Wife likes to cook and likes the alchohol stove and no propane storage worries.
-Just removed and repainted pedestal black and will reinstall later
-added Garmin 400 series gps to pedestal guard
-new vhf radio
-cushions had been redone in navy blue by a previous owner.
-added a navy bimini top.
-rebedded speed and depth log with epoxy backing blocks and 5200. I don't think they'll ever come out in one piece, but they are original and I can live with that!
-wet sanded and buffed then Collonite the gel coat. It looks like a new boat and the shine holds.
-refinished exterior teak with natural cetol and Cetol gloss
-rebed secondary winches and discovered the plywood under starboard side was soaked! I pulled headliner down in head, cut off bottom layer of glass and let it dry. It was not rotten at all. I drilled a lot of holes to check for moisture and when it was gone I sealed it back up. Made new mahogany winch pads.
-washed all the interior teak with oxyclean and then followed up with some kind of orange oil wax and feed from home depot. You should have seen the brown gook that came off. It seemed to lighten it up a little.
- replaced one collapsed motor mount. Yes just one and it's fine. Aligned motor and it is now smooth as silk at low rpms where it use to knock on the bad mount.
there may be more as I remember them...
