There are a lot of surprising places you can motor-sail to around the eastern US. Up the Mississippi and into the Great Lakes and down the Saint Lawrence to the Atlantic and back around to the Gulf of Mexico not to mention Lake Champlaine and the Erie Canal system. You can also motor-sail through Europe starting in Holland going up the Rhine and ending up on the Danube exiting into the Black Sea in Romania. I have not personally been to these places but I read too much, perhaps.
