I am bringing our boat down from Muskegon, MI to East Chicago this weekend. Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as distance that a tank of diesel fuel will get me, should I have to motor all the way? Thanks Chuck new proud owner of Allegro
Most 30ft +/- boats with small diesels use about 1/2 gallon per hour at 2/3-3/4 throttle. If you plan on using 3/4GPH, you should have a comfortable margin. You'd probably be going about 5-5.5 knots. So then the question is how big is your tank and how far is the trip?
