Don't know about Cape Ann, but
I do know that Practical Sailor Magazine did tests of clear teak finishes a couple years ago. They tried a bunch of stuff letting them wheather over a couple of years. Then scratching the finish and letting it weather some more. A couple of thing I do remember about what they found was a lot of stuff out there does not work. I also remember the tests showed that Cetal (not the supper clear stuff but the regular Cetal) did work very well so long as you apply a new coat each year. I have used it because of that article and am very pleased with it.
