My wife and I just signed the paperwork for our new to us 1996 Catalina 36 tonight. we take off on Saturday for St. Simons Island, GA. To sail her back home. We have a captian going with us and plan on off shore coastal up to Beautfort, NC. then the I.C.W. to Norfolk, VA. My wife and I are taking by ourselves from there to the Magothy River. With lots of stops along the way. We're both very excited.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your boat. The 36 is our favorite Catalina. We always said we would "settle" for a 34, but when the time came for us to spend our money .... it was a 30. We love our boat and know you'll love sailing yours. Gary & Mary Lou Kunkel

Congrats--I think the C-36s are beautiful boats (+

and in any case, you're set for new adventures! I envy your trip--best of both worlds, a learning experience with the skipper, then some "bonding" time for you guys! Fair winds, Bill "Ngemelis"

Your New C36

Way to go...we have a '93 C36 and in fact, bought it in '96 from a broker in St Simons Island as well. I am a bit jealous though...we trucked ours up to MD (we are in Great Oak Landing Marina / Fairlee Creek), where we had the mast stepped and some work done on her before starting our adventures. My friends/dock mates have a '95, and a '90 C36's. See you on the bay...look for "Cheers" sail #1247

Congrats - I've had unsolicited comments on how

pretty my C36 is. (And this was from people that own a damn nice boat that I wouldn't mind having - a new Jenneau 43 Deck Salon). You will love her, I'm sure. IMHO the C36 has a great combination of qualities -- Looks, well balanced sailing, able to handle a blow if need be and great layout & salon
