Aaah. If I could just learn everything, I wouldn't need you guys at all.
But I don't. So, I am going to relocate the traveller to the top of the cabin house, because for several reasons I need to get it out of my cockpit. Before anyone starts googling Ericson 29's on it, the factory boat had it on the stern. Big wide traveller albeit, that was subsequently relocated to the front of the helm during a refit of wheel steering, that had to be the reason of the P.O. returning to drink and drug, run away with the circus, and die in obscurity.
With no real desire to join the circus, again, I see travellers for under a grand, no big deal, I would order it right this second. But as is widely known by sailor/builders, it has to be elevated, like is on a Catalina 30. But My GOD!
Then the price starts toward 3 or 4 grand. Say whut?
As usual, I can build an elevated platform for a conventional traveller, but before I reinvent the wheel, does anybody have any practical ideas for this?
Shoot, throw any idea at me, I promise I won't ridicule it. I had even thought about steering the boom with snubbers and preventers, but that still would be in the way for the enclosure. THAT the hen has agreed to already buy at over 6 large. $.
Crap, even I have trouble throwing ten grand at a toy, that knowing me, I'll replace with another one in a year.
Like the flush decked 37', or 41' that I'll never acquire...
(Sorry folks, it's a boat, not a family heirloom).
Anyway. Lemme have it. I'm tough. And I can take it. Death threats. Hate mail. Manifesto's. Etc..
