The manual doesn't seem to discuss this so I'll ask here. Why is the recommended way to break in a new Yanmar 3 cylender diesel engine? I know that it's is recommended on new car engines that one doesn't go over 50 mph for the first 250 miles and changing the oil at 250 miles and 750 miles. My guess is that I don't go over 2250 rpms but I don't know for how many hours.

Vary the RPM and load for

the first 5 hours.Don't run at a constant speed. Change the oil/filter. after 2hrs use then again at 5 hrs and again at 10 It will develope a sweet spot by itself. Thats the way I'd do it. Ya can't change the oil too much. Keep it up, Ctskip
