Ditto on Garhauer. That looks exactly like mine, and I picked it up in person at their place. Great people, by the way.

Never a bad idea to ask Rudy and he might even have the original gate stanchion for the application (assuming it was originally a gate). But these slip-on braces are all aftermarket. I can't imagine a manufacturer using one as original equipment.
Thanks gents! Very helpful. Did find a look-alike brace on Garhauer but a little leery of the exceptionally low price, i.e. $30. Safe to assume it's SS? Phil...that's one hell of a sailboat!

I shop at D&R even if Rudy is a bit higher on some prices and shipping to CA. He has The expertise and build sheets of all the boats. I don't feel bad calling him with questions.
I have just replaced all standing rigging and exterior teak from D&R. Ordered off the website and everything fit perfectly. Rudy actually phoned and said he could ship the rigging cheaper by mail but the teak had to go UPS. He was concerned that it would be delivered at different times.. So, great service by far.
The one we sell is made by Schaefer, I think, and it's super expensive. They're all basically the same, the only differences are slight variation in the angle and center to center dimension. The Garhauer brace is a great buy, just make sure the dimension is correct, they're not all the same.
Got it. Garhauer didn't list any measurements on what appears to be same brace, i.e. not even length, whereas Schaefer came in at exact match - 20 7/8 I think. So we'll see what comes back from Garhauer. Have to pick and choose where the dollars go... Tx. T.
