Bowmar hatch acrylic replacement

I am replacing the cracked acrylic in my Bomar hatch. I am having a plastic shop cut the acrylic to size and shape. My question is when I look at how the original was installed it appears that a two sided tape ( black ) was used to secure the acrylic to the hatch gasket. Has anyone done this project and where did they get that tape from?

PS I really like this boat I've had it about 6 weeks now!!

I have talked to many hatch manufactures and they recommend silicone for this job. They also recommend coating the aluminum with a special fluid (can't recall it's name, but it is very spendy) which helps the silicone adhere to the aluminum. Of course you want to clean off all the other caulking, tape, etc. If it is a Bomar hatch and you want to pursue that "tape" then contact Pompanette in Florida. They are the Bomar owners.
