Folks, There's an indentation in the most forward part of the V-berth of my 2005 260 under the cushions that is covered by a plywood cover that is elliptical. The liner under the cover has a shape to it that appears to be for some special purpose and not very large - any of you figure out what it's designed to hold? David S/V Abundance Hunter 260

Table storage

I'd guess. That would be for boats that don't have wheel steering. My H26 has a female receiver for the table base topped by an oval table for the cockpit. That would be the same spot occupied by the steering pedestal.

That is a very good question

that has been asked many times before, and never has been a good answer to it. Maybe this time somebody will come up with something.

Cockpit Table

Dick is right. That's where our cockpit table is stored. We use is all of the time when anchored for lunch. It works great.

Yup -- table holder!

Yup, holds the table for cocktails in the cockpit when the cock crows at eventide. And it's time to stop before all those "cocks" get get us tossed into a cocked hat by the decency filter!

No table with any model 260. The storage...

...area for it is left over from the 26. It functions like, well kind of like our appendix. alan

I've seen a 260 with a table stored there

My H26 has a table stored there and I was on a 260 with wheel steering that did in fact have a table stored there. On the 260 I don't know if it was an option or maybe the owner had obtained it from an older boat. That was the first Hunter I looked at and I never thought to inquire about it.

It was not an option.

The only place to put it was where the pedistal went for the wheeled versions of the 260. Possibly he aquired it and made a new mount. alan
