Bow sprit stay

I have a '93 Cat 30 tall rig and am replacing the sprit stay due to a cracked fitting. In the process discovered that the bottom one of the three bolts on the lower end that attaches to the bow has pulled/turned out slightly. Do these bolts have a backing plate (can;t find one) or simply screw into the hull?

I thought there was

a backing plate but this is from memory since I no longer own the boat, an 86 model. You had to stick your head in and look forward of the water tank under the v birth matress.
