I think running the lifelines to the upper attachment point would look very cool, and provide enhanced security when changing headsails or working with the anchor. I'd do it in a second, if the sails were cut to allow it. But the180 drifter would need a LOT of its foot cut off, and the 150 almost as much. A 120 on a very long pendant (24"?) would probably be high enough to work, but you'd be heeling a lot at the upper end of the sail's wind range. Plus there's the cost of having the sails recut, and replacing the upper lifeline with a longer one. Too many compromises.
