agree with Sailvayu. Most professionals use standard "boatyard" polyester, I've never seen a failure - a proper repair is usually stronger that original. Its really in the prep and build up. You can do it just be sure and wear a Tyvec hooded suit, gloves and goggles. Fiberglass is a PITA if you get it on you. I just repaired a 6' hole in the side of my 19' oday. I used some ratchet straps to squeeze the hull back into shape and a screw jack to hold the deck where it belonged. Seems to be very strong (nothing cracked or popped when I released the straps and jack) and I used polyester resin for the repair.
