bow chocks vs. cleats?

I'll be launching my 1976 O'Day 25 for the first time this spring. I was surprised to see sturdy cleats mounted on either side of the bow where I would've expected to find chocks to run an anchor line and/or mooring pendant through. There doesn't appear to be adequate space to add chocks in addition to the cleats. Do all the 25s have cleats at the bow? Does anybody find the lack of chocks to be a problem, or are the cleats adequate? Thanks!

Cleats

I think all came with cleats. I installed new deck hardware and replaced the cleats with chocks and one big stainless cleat (with a backing plate) center mounted about 15" aft of the chocks. I like the idea of the more robust cleat in the middle instead of along the deck edge, but there is the trade off of line chafe at the chock. The cleats never gave me any trouble, but I only used them for dock lines. I only anchored once for lunch before the cleats were replaced.

Cleats

My '84 O'Day 25 has cleats. I moor and anchor with them and have not had any problem.
