I'm working on the maintenance for a sailing educational program and we are attempting to find out where we can purchase bow fender caps for Catalina 16.5s. Since we are using the boats to teach with, we'd like to put a fender/bumper on the bow to prevent damage. Folks tell me they have seen them, but no one seems to know where to get them. Any help appreciated, please e-mail directly if possible but I do check the board: bcassel1@pacbell.net Thanx!

transom fender?

A transom fender like WM carries might be shaped right to work at the bow, although I don't know what example you had in mind.

Are you talking about a vertical bow guard?

Not quite sure if I understand what you're looking for, but if you mean a 'vertical bow guard' that protects the leading edge of the bow from about 2 feet above the water line to about 6 inches in the water, you can get those from 'Bass Pro Shops' (basspro.com). They're a thick, flexible rubber strip that is glued to bow to protect it from hitting docks, other boats, groundings, etc.
