Not a clue.

Those things are too old Chet. I am amazed that mine still work. I'll be up there tomorrow and see what kind of markings are on mine. I know they are original. I put a new tri-color on top of the mast this winter just as a backup.

Aqua Signal...

Aqua Signal made the lights for the 37C and parts should be available through them directly or possibly Defender or a major commercial marine supplier. I've seen the lenses somewhere before but here's a trick that works pretty well in the meantime. Coat the lense with a good quality marine varnish, Z-Spar has worked for me and made the lense look like new. I did it as a temporary fix two years ago and it still looks great! Peters & Bey

Sorry Tom, your boat must be too new. Last night I got all the numbers and letters off of mine. Like NSK and PB. The stern is a "hecklaterne" and the bow is a "doppelf seiten". I used NSK and hecklaterne in a YAHOO search and got the hit below(Related Link). Then if you use Peter and Bey in Yahoo you will see some more sites, most in Deutsche. A couple are: http://www.peters-bey.com/ http://www.sporthausneptun.de/produkte/accesoire.htm#lampen Be sure to scroll down and read all the posts on the Related Link. The sporthausneptun site actually has a picture of our bow/stern lights. Let us know if you actually find the lenses.

Ed, Aqua Signal is a Deutsche Company...

I can't say for sure they made them for all the 37C's but I have seen them on some older Hunters. Check out the link and see if there is any help there. Tom

Fakes

Be careful, there are some very similar looking lights out there that are copies made in the Far East.

Series 25

Continuing on with Tom's link (ya, das ist richtig), assuming the previous owner hasn't changed them, most likely it's an Aqua-Signal Series 25 "Classic". The Series 40 are required for boats over 39 feet. Followed the links and came to some *.pdf files that can be downloaded at http://www.aquasignal.de/aquaeng/shipping/lightonboardnavi.html Last year the importance of good running lights was driven home (no pun intended). This was in Dixon Entrance just below the Alaska panhandle. I saw an older sailboat, about 25 foot, that was T-boned by an aluminum sport fishing boat traveling at high speed. The sailboat had small teardrop type running lights that were popular in the early 70's and the lenses were very faded. Larger lights with good lenses may have averted this accident. I had just replaced my bow running lights in-kind but after seeing this accident I would have liked to replace them with the larger Series 40's instead. Recommend using Lanocote on the screw threads that hold the lenses on. Mine "froze" and the screw sheared off hence the need to replace the entire fixture. I also replaced the wires with marine grade tin-plated conductors and coated the interior metal parts with an anti-oxidant to reduce future corrosion. Especially the bulb sockets and wire connections.
