bought H37C, mast appears modified

I just bought an 81 h37c. I noticed something was a little weird with the base of the mast. there were 2 sections that looked like they were bolted on. bolts all the way around, well screws. I thought nothing of it. Then i found a blueprint drawing of the boat, and notes on the mast say that it was lengthened from the base by a number of feet that i cant remember at the moment. from memory it looks like it must be at least 3 feet. Was this done by Hunter, or something a previous owner did? There were a bunch of measurements on the mast, total height, old height, length of the addition, etc. i cant remember them all.

We just went through the mast length question: http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?t=134286&page=2 . Bottom line is the shoal draft boat has a mast of 52' 6" and the fin keel boat mast is 53' 1". Measure and let us know. Likely that the mast bottom was corroded away and that was the fix, cut it away and add a section.

The base presently has some corrosion that i intend to treat.
