It think it does not have to do with water because it does not have a little well pump icon next to it. I would guess waste.

To me it looks like a heater. The pipe looks like a chimney flue.

gene and j racer: yes, it may be the cabin diesel heater that's a built in unit. Only that the wall switch for the heater works on AC, so I'm assuming the DC switch is for when we're not on shore power.

Apex: The first link is the best! The second did help, even though mine is the 35E "Exclusive" (whatever!). Strangely, this wasn't in the manual and wondering if a previous owner took it out to place near the panel and it got lost. Mystery now seems to be solved.

Have you tried this....

?

There is a "Contact" link you can try.

And Congrats on your new boat. Figuring her out is part of the romance.
The Bavaria dealer from B.C. answered back and it seems it's the diesel heater - so I guess on AC I don't flip the switch but on DC it seems I'd have to. Thanks again for the link.

Welcome to the world of Bavaria Yachts. After we deciphered our panel the Admiral made a key card, laminated it, and stuck it in a little cubby hole near the panel so guests/crew could be asked to flip the correct switch from time to time as needed. Our Espar does not run on AC; DC only and the thermostat switch is not in the panel.

we plan to do the same with a laminated card.
