cost per hour

I have a Hunter 40 also. Three years ago it cost me $70.00 per hour, or $1,320.00.

Why?????????

Why would you want to do that. I can understand removing a couple of coats to prevent the heavy paint from falling off the boat, but total removal. What a waste of time. Jim

Stripping paint is good idea

The DPO of my beautifull 1976 Pearson P28-1 thought is was a great idea to put hard paint on 12 years in a row. When I bought the boat there were many spots where layers of this paint chipped off and left deep ridges in the bottom. This past year I scraped by hand down to gelcoat, sanded and applied 4 coats of 2000e. Then applied 1 coat of blue hard AF and 3 coats of black soft AF. We have placed 2nd, 1st and 3rd racing this year and are tied for first place. Last year our best finish was 3rd. Now maybe I am a better sailer this year but my humble upbringing forces me to claim it is the new bottom! Tim R.
