Hello...looking for some advice...
Well its an 1985 Beneteau, and its time to strip the bottom...which is 90% done...The Keel needs some attention. I am planning to do a barrier coat followed by the anti fouling pain. The keel i was planning on using interlux water tight, followed by interprotect 2000. The question is, I believe this is an Iron keel, coated with either fiber glass or resins. It has a number of pits, divots etc, and the edges are all chewed up. What is the right way to prep this before laying on the fairing compound....do I needs to get down to bright metal? That would be a bunch of grinding...see attached pics
Good Advice appreciated!
